Racist?? I guess Bush is a racist for excluding all the Chinese,Russians,Pakistanis and Saudis by not speaking in their languages in his speech.

the Bush familia is not racist... in fact, Barbara Bush and Laura Bush are the only two "first ladies" to have had minority press secretaries... two Latinas... (well, Barbara's was mixed--black and Latina)... Laura's is a Latina Democrat... (who claims to be evolving into a Republican)... both women make note of the fact that it is under the Bush administrations where they were hired...

Yep, he's a racist. It isn't that Bush spoke in Spanish that made him (the poster) a racist, it was that it offended him (the poster) that Bush made an effort to reach out. I guess reaching out to people whose primary language is Spanish is somehow "pandering", the same word used by the black racists in America when they talk about Dr. Rice or Secretary Powell.

After all, since "those people" are of an inferior race, he can't view them as equals worthy of attention or worthy enough to ask for their vote, can he?

Bush speaks Spanish. His sister-in-law is of Mexican decent. People of a primarily hispanic descent are now the biggest minority in the country. The advantage gained addressing those voters in Spanish in reference to not leaving even their children behind should be something that somebody with even half a brain should be able to see and approve of. I think this discussion proves that point.
