We need a list of Kerry advisers. Each one is scarier than the one before. I don't even want to think of a Kerry cabinet.

"NewsMax"; September 2004. 'How Kennedy Molded and Rescued Kerry', by Richard Poe:

... But the fact is that Edward Kennedy has been Kerry's adviser, political mentor and sponsor since the younger man entered public life in the 1960s.

... You would hardly know it from the network news, but the roster of Kerry's inner circle reads like a Who's Who of Kennedy loyalists.

Robert M. Shrum: David Halbfinge of the NY Times once described him as the "alter ego to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy." Shrum managed Kennedy's 1980 presidential campaign and served as his spokesman until 1984. In Feb. 2003, Shrum joined Kerry's campaign.

Liberal pundit Doug Ireland noted in 'LA Weekly': "[S]hrummy ... attached himself to Kerry like a mollusk ... He's the first to have the senator's ear in the morning and the last to whisper in it at night."

Tad Devine and Michael Donilon: Shrum's partners in the Boston media consultancy Shrum, Devine & Donilon.

Mary Beth Cahill: Sen. Kennedy's office chief of staff left her job to take over as Kerry's campaign manager.

Stephanie Cutter: Sen. Kennedy's press secretary replaced spokesman Robert Gibbs.

Jack Corrigan: served as liaison to the Democratic convention

Michael Whouley: field organizer

Tom Kiley: pollster

John Marttila: political strategist

John Sasso: Sasso's résumé includes a stint managing the failed 1988 presidential campaign of Michael Dukakis. Sasso currently serves on the boards of the Fannie Mae Foundation and of the Heller School of Social Policy at Brandeis University.

Prior to his notorious testimony before the Fulbright Committee in 1971, Kerry recruited the assistance of Adam Walinsky, a speechwriter noted for his work with Robert Kennedy. Walinksy drafted the speech and coached Kerry on its delivery.*
