"...baited breath."

I'm sure this comment refers to Kerry and not the President.

Two for two with the psychic friends. First Kreskin predicted a win and now the astrologists.

I'm not a big believer but I'll take it.

His rising sign ruler Mars, which is also the ruler of the 6th house, is retrograde in the natal chart.

I hate when that happens.

From the article -

These two charts show that the race will be neck and neck. Therefore, even though it is difficult to determine who will win, my best judgment says that George Bush may have an edge over John Kerry.

Astrology is a science of indications only, it does not say a particular thing will happen it only says that it can happen.

Yawn.

I just hate it when my yogas get blocked. It just ruins my whole day.

Speaking of conventions, C-Span 2 is showing the 1984 Republican convention, and then Vice-President George Bush senior is on fire. He even had a line about activist judges, heh heh!

"...baited breath."

That should be 'bated' breath.

Instead of comparing their natal charts to each other they should compare each individual natal to the chart of the US.

Ambrose -- this is too funny! I grew up in Marin County, and learning astrology was nearly mandatory (*What sign are you?*). I'll provide here a summary of what the astrologer is saying in commonspeak:

John Kerry has Scorpio rising with Sun in the rising sign. Mars, ruler of the rising sign is retrograde in the 7th house with exalted Moon in Taurus. The Sun, being the ruler of the 10th house is occupying the rising sign in the constellation of Mercury.

John Kerry has "might" however it is conflicting with his emotional self and he's reacting to events possibly too rapidly.

The 10th house is occupied by benevolent Jupiter, occupying the constellation of Ketu. The planet of democracy, Saturn, being in the 8th house is retrograde and aspected by the 8th house ruler Mercury.

John Kerry wishes he were a real Democrat, which is revealed through his off the cuff, immediate reactions and commentary.

The disposition of these planets appear to be very powerful, creating many raja yogas – planetary combinations for power, position and status in life.

John Kerry (and associates) has a good possibility for making even more money after the election.

The rising sign ruler, Mars, is in mutual aspect with the Sun, ruler of the 10th house, creating a powerful raja yoga which has the energy to bring the highest political position.

John Kerry is worshipped at some levels; and has potential for arming himself; but can't stick with the process of doing so.

He has the Moon, the ruler of the 9th house placed in an exalted position in the 7th house opposite the Sun, the ruler of the 10th house, creating another powerful raja yoga. When the 9th and 10th house rulers are mutually connected it creates a highly effective yoga called a dharma/karma yoga which brings the opportunity to become successful...

Dharma/karma cancel each other out, thereby creating a neutral, which is the goal of practicing kundalini (and Hatha) yogism.

I could go on, parsing this in "commonspeak". I've always found it useful to study and comprehend all manner of languages.

"Ahhhhh hates sushi."

Mebbe so, pardner. But if'n you ate it, you'd definitely have "baited breath" as opposed to "bated breath."

"The benevolent Jupiter; ...but the weakness of the Mercury/Mercury dasa..."
OK. In middle ages Jupiter was considered to be responsible for financials (holds true for kerry - there is a benevolent Jupiter there); Mercury, on another hand, was routinely connected with STDs and their treatment. Therefore I see a danger for him...

What's interesting is that this was written on 5/31, a hellish time for Bush. The writer predicts things will improve just in time for the election.

In for a penny; in for a pound. Here's what the "astrologer" is saying about President George Bush:

President George W. Bush has Cancer rising with Saturn, Mercury and Venus in the rising sign and Mars in Leo in the 2nd house, Jupiter and the Moon in Virgo in the 3rd house, Ketu in Scorpio with Rahu in Taurus, the Sun in Gemini.

All the aces are in President Bush's hands.

Currently, the president is passing through the major dasa of Saturn which started in 1987 and continues to influence until May 2006.

The aces and good showing of George Bush is only "temporary".

Jupiter is powerfully placed in the 3rd house aspecting its own house, the 9th, the house of good luck and good fortune very strongly. Even through it is also the ruler of the 6th house its aspect on its own house has strengthened its position as the ruler of the 9th house which has the power to give highly beneficial results.

Meaning, President Bush has just been "booming" due "dumb luck" (and not of his own making).

Jupiter is also closely conjunct the Moon, ruler of the rising sign thereby creating a powerful Gajakesari yoga which has the power to bring people into prominent position.

"Prominent People" are only "helping" Bush because they see some sort of greedy, self-interest in doing so -- it's not because they like the guy or agree with his positions.

Since the Moon, ruler of the rising sign, and Mercury, the ruler of the Moon sign, have exchanged signs with a 3/11 relationship to one another it has added to the strength of the Mercury.

President Bush is going to begin screwing up; or getting screwy.

Currently, Saturn in transit is passing through Gemini and it is affecting Bush badly, bringing a lot of negative publicity. It has definitely influenced his rating.

Dittos, my previous translation. Notice, astrologer has not included the verbiage to allow for "dumb luck" here. Ahem.

However, during the time of the election Saturn will be in his rising sign, exactly at the same degree that it was occupying at the time of his birth. This helps him significantly to increase his chances of winning the election. Added to that, during election time Jupiter in transit will be in Virgo where Bush has Jupiter in the natal chart. That again increases the power of the Jupiter.

WOW!!! This astrologer has just "interpreted" one MAJOR HEAVY thing !! It describes a "destiny". a born again "thing"; which astrologer describes as the potential for Bush to go overboard on the "destiny/God" thing.

In the dasamsa chart he has vargottama Cancer rising with exalted Mars and debilitated Jupiter aspecting the rising sign very strongly and debilitated Saturn in the 10th house. However, both Saturn and Jupiter have Neecha Bhanga, the cancellation of the debilitation.

Dang!!! More good news for President Bush! The rest, below, says although John Kerry might be a good president; George Bush is going to win re-election, according to the stars.

Overall, John Kerry has many raja yogas going for him in his chart which naturally gives him the capacity to attain the highest position in politics, but the weakness of the Mercury/Mercury dasa/bhukti has the ability to block the effects of the powerful yogas to bring the desired results. However, in the case of George Bush, from the Moon sign Saturn, Venus and Mercury in the 11th house has created a powerful raja yoga and his Saturn has benefited him since his Saturn dasa started in 1987. Currently, he is in the last bhukti of Saturn which is Jupiter, operating until 2006. Since Jupiter is associated with the Moon, the ruler of the rising sign, it could naturally give him advantage during this bhukti.

Just read yours, after posting my "Bushie" translation. WOW. 5/31 was indeed a wild time for President Bush; he was surrounded and dealt a hand of a million variables to deal with. And he did. And quite well, IMHO.
