You, I, and other FReepers know this, but how will it play in middle America, among "undecideds", who get their news from lib newspapers and the alphabet channels... I love what he said, I think he could have done it without looking so angry.

I disagree totally. Zell is ALLOWED to get angry and fired up. He can do what Cheney can't, because he needs to be more "Vice Presidential." It was a powerful speech. I'm still shaking.

Maybe it is because he was angry that the Dems have nominated someone who bugged out of Vietnam, slandered Americans while still in combat, met with the enemy in Paris, and voted against defense systems for almost 20 years in Congress. I am angry and upset that such a person could be considered for dog catcher, let alone President. The stakes in this election are serious. God help us if Kerry and the Dems take over at the critical juncture. We are still dealing with Clinton's legacy.

Go take a look at the thread on Luntz's focus group. 17 swing voters going in. 11 out of 17 Bush voters coming out. High, high marks for Zell's speech, and obvious conviction. They seemed most impressed that this was coming from a democrat.
