The Bush twins are hot..very hot. I thought the Hampster line was classic. However,it ran 2 mins too long.

You people need to lighten up. These girls did exactly what they were supposed to do. They personalized and introduced their father and also managed to talk to the 18-21 year olds out there to show that they are just like other American families.

WTF did you want them to do, give a lecture on economic theory? World peace? THAT would have been a mistake.

God bless the twins for doing exactly the job they were assigned.

You should see what Jim Geraghty of NRO's Kerry Spot has to say about them. http://www.nationalreview.com/kerry/kerryspot.asp

"MAKE! IT! STOP! [08/31 10:28 PM]

The Bush daughters could have been worse. They could have come out and armpit-farted the Star Spangled Banner.

I am stabbing out my eyes now...

UPDATE: Gee, did Dick Cheney look like he wanted to smack the twins around a bit?

What, exactly, were Jenna and Barbara thinking? "Hey, it's our debut on the national state. Let's begin the evening by making fun of our grandmother, a beloved former first lady. Then let's remind everyone of Dad's aimless and drunken years. Then let's remind people of our incidents of underage drinking."

In fact, its amateurishness was really its charm.

Precisely. All the while I was thinking younger kids might be able to relate to them. It was kind of refreshing actually that they weren't polished and professional.

I have to say, I couldn't watch them. Who let them give that dumb remark about their Grandmother and "Sex in the City"? horrendous. Had to leave the room after that.

Jeeze folks. Even my son got it. Said the only reason they were even there was to attempt to attract the MTV crowd.

Joe Klien is saying that he contacted lots of Democrats today and they all say they are angry over how the Kerry Campaign is being run.

The RATS are in complete meltdown mode :-)

I'm not all that keen on anybody's family being used in political ways. Especially children. I think politics should be a serious and professional undertaking. Leave the families out of it. I think the Kerry girls AND the Bush girls should stay home. They're not germane to the issues.

Dude. The twins did far better than Bill Frist! Did you watch him? Man what a disaster!

No, I didn't. Tonight was the first I've been able to watch any of the convention. And I only caught the last couple of minutes of Arnolds speach. And then the daughters and Laura.

So,I guess my hopes exceeded what I was able to see tonight.

I think Laura did fine. And in retrospect, I guess since the twins were only there to introduce Laura, they weren't too out of place in that context(just too long).

Laura isn't there to be the political powerhouse. She is such a class act, particularly when compared to the Hildebeast and Shoveit.

My take is that political pundits and news reporters are not always the best judges of what average americans thought of the Bush twins or Laura Bush. I thought both speeches would likely be well received by real americans independent voters, and women voters.

Pains me to say it, but the FoxNews people, Barnes, Kondrake, Liason and Kristol didn't have such shining reviews either. I didn't hear what Brit had to say. I think they're (the twins) are as cute as can be and in spite of the pundits opinions, they probably reached alot of young voters that saw a side of them that one doesn't get to see.........they're young, fun-loving and have a knowledge of pop culture as we know it. Wall flowers they ain't. Give em a break.

Well, Chris Wallace gave the girls a 10 and I agree with him.

George W. Bush is a FAMILY MAN! His daughters and wife are a part of his life and a part of his Presidency.

I'm getting a little tired of the whining and criticism being posted on FR about the "intelligence"; "voice inflections" and "who should have been speaking and who shouldn't". in the Bush Family.

Geez, talk about family values, some of you folks just don't get it!

Cheezy is a good description.

I don't think my adult son was listining as much as looking.

Yep he said he wasn't listening just looking.

CSpan is doing after convention interviews.

Everyone loved Arnold and his Girlie Men comment.

Maybe the girls didn't give an Oscar performance, but what were we looking for?
I was pleased to see the way they were dressed. Kerry's daughter thinks the way to get votes for her father is to 'bare it all' in public. Take your pick cute or trashy...it's up to you.

IMHO: They came off as typical self-concious young adults fighting a large dose of stage fright. I of course think they did better than the Kerry daughters, because I support GWB.

However: For a real comparison, Please project in your mind the mental image of what A**holes most of the Kennedy sons and young Ron Reagan have turned out to be.

I thought they were adorable and funny - considering they had to read a script in front of millions. They sparkle and are beautiful - They are charming - Laura was lovely and elegant as always - However, it perhaps would have been better to end with Arnold...
I turned on Cspan to get the rest of the evening.
