As our nation's eyes are on New York City for the Republican National Convention, Log Cabin's mission, our courageous delegates and our GOP allies are under intense attack from the radical right. The Republican Party Platform is an outrageous insult to all of us and our families. The platform not only calls for an anti-family Constitutional amendment, but it also opposes civil unions and domestic partnerships. While thousands of courageous gay and lesbian Americans are fighting to win the war on terror, the platform also says, "Homosexuality is incompatible with military service."
Log Cabin has decided to respond immediately to this outrageous platform. We are launching an aggressive counter attack against the radical right which has hijacked the GOP.
Please take 30 seconds to watch Log Cabin's newly produced television commercial which we launched this morning. And, if you agree with our message please help us immediately. We must broadcast this commercial in New York City this week so delegates can hear our message. We won't have this chance again for 4 years. Only you can help us do that. This morning, I personally contributed $1,000 to this effort. Please join me right now to help us take on the radical right.
Get over it. Homosexuality is a fact of many lives. Yeah, they're your fellow countrymen.
I have no problems with civil unions. Marriage no, but some legal arrangement should be made to accommodate and encourage monogamous commitments.
If the Republican Party moves to a moderate agenda and becomes more inclusive in order to gain fragmenting RAT members...then it stands to reason that the Republicans will continue to migrate to the left (or as RINOs say...'moderate'). Only conservatives can right the ills we, as a nation, face, but, currently, we are considered useful idiots and ultimately expendable. As krinton said about the gay vote when he triangulated the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy - 'who are they going to vote for?' Our leadership considers us in much the same position.
it is a fact of life and one that has existed since the beginning of time, doesnt make it right and i agree that there's no place for gay marriage anywhere in the world
Folks, the "Log Cabin Republicans" are simply a FRONT GROUP of GRAMSCIAN MARXISTS (like "Trojan Horses") trying to pervert the direction of the Republican Party.
They are part of the "Counter Hegemony" that was spoken of by the radical communist Anotonio Gramsci when he developed his plan to destroy and undermine Western Civilizaiton, and America in particular. The blueprint has been following ALMOST EXACTLY and you can read all about it in this CONGRESSIONAL TESTIMONY on the issue!

STOP BEING FOOLED BY THE LEFTY LOONIES!! Believing there's such a thing as "Log Cabin Republican" gays is like believing that at the height of the Cold War we should give the KGB free and unfettered access to the CIA, Pentagon, White House, and the FBI.
A Gay Democrat in Republican drag.
Sure, make the tent big enough and the next thing ya know...
Larry Elder was explaining to one of them that legislation won't work, but an amendment would make it clear for the whole country that marrisge is man/woman.
I was disappointed that it wouldn't be man/women. I have a confession. Ann Coulter, Bo Derick and I live in a loving domestic relationship and we can't ALL be one union in marriage..........(Wake up Mark, you were dreaming!!)
Damn!
It's not worth picking up a small percentage of the already low 2% of the population (homosexual) that would EVER vote Republican, thereby alienating the conservative base that makes up the VOTING Republicans.
Gays (at least the ones who don't parade around their "alternate lifestyle" like a weeping sore) have it no harder than your typical single person. Big deal. I was a bachelor for nearly 12 years. I survived.
The following is one of my rants. Kind of on a different topic, but it deals with the fact that liberals and gays are siding against the the Republicans, and that opposition is against the best interests of their causes. The nature of our political system is such that if they joined us meaningfully they could participate in accomplishing foreign policy goals that are commonly shared. The only requirement is that they face reality... damnit, that's where even I get hung up trying to convince a liberal to vote for Bush... the whole reality dysfunction of their world view.
My response to a liberal idiot who dared to compare the Islamo-fascists in Iraq to our forefather's and Revolutionaries. That kind of equating does not add up... the rant goes on much longer into a plea for liberals to examine the hypocrisy between their beliefs and their political position.
The comparison of the Iraqi insurgence to our Revolution is ridiculous. Have you bothered to learn what it is these insurgents will do if they gain political power in Iraq?
1) Strip women of civil rights.
2) Homosexuals... will die, executed by the state.
3) Dissent is punished with death and intimidation, they're doing it already.
- Iraqis who work with Americans are killed.
4) Freedom of speech will be curtailed.
5) Freedom of religion will be revoked. Yes, Christians, Atheists, and anyone else will be forced to convert, leave, or die.
What did our nation's forefather's do with the power a successful revolution gave them? They gave us a flexible Constitution. They gave us the means by which future generations have abolished slavery, accorded women the right to vote, and more importantly they guaranteed the right of the governed to be involved in the political process. Don't expect the insurgents in Iraq to be so generous.
In fact, based on everything I've learned about liberals and their views, I've come to the conclusion that they are selfish, narcissistic, drones for the liberal leadership, of which Michael Moore is one of them. If the liberals would step back and examine the issues involved in liberating Afghanistan and Iraq, they should be the most in favor of bringing peace to that region. Under more moderate regimes women will have equal rights with men, homosexuals will not be persecuted or executed, and everyone will have the right to free speech. If you don't want those for your fellow humans in the Middle East, all I can say is you are all hypocrites.
There is injustice in the world, but you refuse to defend those who most need your help. Is it not a greater injustice to not stop the atrocities committed before our intervention? And now that those atrocities have been halted, and the only thing left to do is put down those who would perpetuate those atrocities, you, liberals, would turn on those who would free and liberate millions of people because you believe something is wrong with the way we are doing it? People die in the type of fight we are fighting in the Middle East. We are fighting those who would perpetuate suffering and commit acts of terror against innocents on purpose because they know and predicted your very reaction. They think the liberal left of our country are idiots enough to fight against a government which is fighting to free the very people the enemy is trying to enslave and oppress.
That is all you really need to know about this conflict. It is between America's values of freedom, and those who would oppress their people and tyrannically force their people live in poverty, even with the wealth of oil in their nations.
I know most of you believe that Bush is an evil corporate insider, but I doubt any of you have even tried to examine the man's private life. None of you have bothered to look at the pictures at ground zero after 9/11 where Bush walked the grounds with the families. How he held onto a child and cried with her over her loss. Damnit! Our President CRIED and you accuse him of being a heartless perpetrator of corporate interests. None of you have bothered to get to know either of the candidates because none of you seem to really care about the truth. Well, here you have it... The enemy really is EVIL, and they really do want to KILL you. They've wanted to do this for decades. It isn't a new phenomena. They didn't attack us and bring down the World Trade Center because we put another George Bush in the White House. They would've done it if Gore was President. If they win in the Middle East, millions of people will be stripped of freedoms we now enjoy. When the liberals take up the banner for gay rights and gay marriage, they ignore that being gay is a crime under fundamentalist Islamic rule. Instead of just fighting for gay rights, perhaps fighting for gay lives would be more appropriate to the bleeding heart left. For the women who want an equal rights amendment, you have in effect received all of those equal rights, yet your analogs in the Middle East are stripped of any rights to be equal by men... Men who executed a sexually curious girl only recently while only giving the boy 100 lashes. Her crime besides premarital sex? For talking back to the judge and showing her face.
We can stop these crimes against humanity, but the enemy is already on the move. The enemy believes that it is okay to deceive an enemy to gain an advantage, so we cannot negotiate with them in good faith. There is only one... one option to free those people, and it is the might of our military and the combined will of our people. If you don't stand with those of us want to reform the Middle East and give them a chance for freedom, then those who you most identify with will always remain hidden on pain of persecution or execution. I say this because in the end our goals would be the same, a free and peaceful Middle East, and an end to a power base for terror inclined extremists.
Consider this last point, if we didn't do this now, imagine what would have happened years from now if Iraq had finalized deals with China. Imagine what would have happened if Iran had obtained nuclear weapons already. Imagine the lives and devastation waiting could have done, and all those lives you think are needlessly being spent now, will have been spent by the millions.
Wrong or right about the reasons for being there, the mission to free and help sustain a free and peaceful Iraq and Afghanistan is certainly a just cause, and George W. Bush is dedicated to finishing the job. John Kerry has flipped on this issue several times, and if he stays true to his record, he probably won't finish the job, and the 50 million people in the Middle East who have been liberated by our intervention will lose their chance.
You don't have to support or fight the insurgents and the terrorists... But you can fight for the rights of the people in that region to be free and in order to do that, you have to put aside your dislike for Bush and get behind the mission to bring freedom and peace to those people. If you don't, you place at risk the lives of everyone you claim to care about. No other man would be able to prosecute the liberation of the Middle East than GWB. Only Bush can effectively put on the face of firm resolve that we have to show to the enemy, because any wavering will only hearten them and give them a reason to believe that they can win. That is the reality of the world, and while it doesn't jive with the ideal that many of you hope to see in your lifetime, perhaps we can all work together to make sure that we do have a shot of passing on a more peaceful world to future generations. For as long as conflict exists, your ideals will remain impossible, and conflict exists so long as those who would be murderous aggressors, like fanatical Islam extremists, continue to grow, organize, and obtain the ability to project their aggression against those who would prefer peace.
Just think about it.
for later
I don't even care if it's private or if someone is a flaming queer - just don't try to make me support your deviant lifestyle via my taxes, or try to take away my right to speak out against it.
They are people confused by the fact that every living thing on the planet exists as a result of heterosexual design. They are people who think that their inclinations to non-productive sex entitles them to restructure society to fit their pleasures. They consider two men having anal sex to be equivalent to a man and a woman having sex in a marriage. They are people who believe in thought-crimes and push for these Orwellian laws. Most importantly, they pretend to be conservative in order to take over the language (marriage, family values, etc.) and pervert it to cover their fetishes.
They're Trojan horses.
I agree. I don't understand why these idiots call themselves Republicans. They would be much happier in the RAT party.
Infiltrate and destroy.
It's really a shame, having different views than other people within the same party....
