Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. Well, that seems to be factual. Evolution is on stronger footing when examining a change from one living thing to a similar living thing, than it is when examining a change from dead/inanimate things to a living thing.

Evolution only concerns living things. Things that aren't alive don't evolve. They are, however, subject to the laws of physics and chemistry. But that's outside of evolution theory.
