My daughter has been on Ritalin, and now Concerta. It has been a wonder drug for her. We tried medication as a
last resort, after therapy and dietary changes.
For all those who say not to medicate, do you have a child with ADD/ADHD? Because unless you have, you are in not much of a position to shun these drugs unless you have LIVED with a ADD child.
My son's ability to concentrate in class (thus his grades) has greatly improved on Concerta. To me, that's what really counts. I can deal with the ADHD behavior at home. However, if it affects his education, I'm utilizing whatever it takes to give him the edge in class. His education is paramount to me.
