Come back in an hour. If child is still playing, he DOES NOT HAVE ADD!!

Cute, but not accurate. It is PRECISELY the electronic stimulation of an ADHD child that can grasp his attention.

My son (who DOES have ADHD) can do the video games for hours on end (if we let him).

I know this is true from my own son's experience and watching the ADHD kids who live next door. The best thing for them is good physical activity but also a chance to do well, if medication can help, then it should be considered.
Video games actually stimulate the brain in wrong ways and often increases aggressive behavior, kids become more restless when they play too much, too long, it is better if they find other more constructive activity.

Are you saying that this disorder is selective?

It is utterly counter-intuitive that a child who is capable of paying attention "for hours on end" is diagnosed with "attention deficit" anything.

By definition, if you CAN pay attention to something, you do NOT have an "attention deficit."
