With all the preservatives they put in food, it's a wonder we're still alive.

Good point. My ancestors (WV stock) all lived to their late 80's and 90's. They ate eggs, biscuits (made with lard), bacon, gravy, fried bologna, and fried apples for breakfast every day of their lives. I've often wondered why they didn't all die in their 50's with a heart attack.

They probably worked very hard. We're so sedentary that I believe that has more of an effect on us than the fat in the food. They worked it off, we sit and watch tv or play on the computer, etc. My father loved fried ring balogna. He used to fix it all the time. He died of heart trouble at 71. Mxxx
