The issue is not saying what you believe, it is not saying things that will so easily be used against you.
Keyes can be pro-gun rights without dropping sound-bites about how great the US would be if everyone walked around with Uzis, which is guaranteed to cost him votes.

Did you read what I said? Yes I did, and I have no problem with this information in the public discourse. Bringing this debate into the public discourse puts the opposition on the defensive. They've been pushing us for too long. It's time to push back, not talk about mandatory trigger locks and other unenforceable, useless measures.
