Are you equally willing to tolerate adult child "relationships"? How about cousin "relationships"? Other family "relationships"? Animal "relationships"? Group "relationships"?

(Legislatures are so outdated. If you want real political victory, take your issue to court.)

What's wrong with them? Several states allow first cousins to marry.

There are important differences though.
adult-child
We protect the child from being abused as we stipulate that it can't make a rational decision at that point. Gays are other adults.
Cousins
This produces undefined legal status (ie. the kid's great aunt would also be the kid's grandmother). Not the case between two unrelated gay partners.
Family
As long as the members are sufficiently removed this is permitted. However, if you get too close the risk for degeneration increases dramatically. No reproduction among gays.
Animals
Legally, an animal is a thing. A gay/lesbian is still a human being.
Groups
This is would also lead to legal inconsistencies as we would not be able to derive a tree of descent.

Cousin relationships are legal in 38 states.
