Freepers:
Should every Freeper get one of these 'Kerry Kits' for their own 'information' (and to deplete the supply of these 'propaganda' marketing tools?
Should someone file a complaint with the FEC since this is clearly a violation that 527s are not supposed to promote a particular candidate. The Kerry Kit promotes Kerry. It is not general issues oriented material.
From the short clip on the order page I gathered that....Kerry's testimony before Congress in 1971 is spun as an act of heroism.
I doubt that the Swift Vets fro Truth & POWs tortured by the Viet Cong using Kerry's word would concur.
What are your thoughts on this subject?
Do you have any suggestions or should this just be ignored?

MoveOn.org taking Nazi Propaganda into the 21st Century. Oh the I bet the little fascists are so proud.

Wow... if the rules of 527's are no promotion of a single candidate, then wow... this is big time wrong.
Time for the media to sweep MORE under the rug.

Long War of John Kerry...how ironic, since he was over there such a short period of time.
I don't know enough about the laws, but I say REPORT THEM if they've overstepped their boundaries. They'd waste no time reporting the Swift Boat Vets.

Supporting Federal Candidates: A Guide For Citizens
Filing a Complaint
- If you believe a violation of the Federal campaign finance law has taken place, you may file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission. Send the Commission a letter explaining why you (the complainant) believe the law may have been violated, describe the specific facts and circumstances and name the individuals or organizations responsible (the respondents). Your complaint should also indicate which allegations are based on personal knowledge rather than on outside sources (for example, newspaper articles). The letter must be sworn to, signed and notarized. Complaints of alleged violations receive case numbers and are called MURs, Matters Under Review. (For more information on how to file a complaint, call the FEC.)
- The Commission sends a copy of the complaint to the respondents, who have the opportunity to explain why the Commission should not pursue the complaint (for example, because no violation occurred or because there were mitigating factors). The agency considers the views of both sides and may conduct an investigation to gather facts. Until the MUR is resolved, the Commission must keep all phases of the proceedings confidential, as required by law. After it makes a decision, the agency notifies the complainant and the respondents. The file on the MUR is then made public.

The law is clear, positions, not candidates. If they are truthful about Kerry's liberal voting record though, that should be enough to do him in with the independents.

It's a blatant violation of the law, but they're Democrats so the law does not pertain to them.

I suggest that everyone get one of these marketing kits and then place it in a landfill.
The other tactic to eat up the funding of such a group is to take a brick (or a length of 2x4) and wrap it in brown paper, then glue any Business Reply Mail - Postage paid either postcard or envelope for the Kerry campaign or Moveon.org, etc. to the package. Drop in mailbox and try not to laugh too hard when it lands with a thud. By the time it gets to the destination - they'll be billed a lot of money for the postage.

If they're sending out a Kerry-Edwards sticker, then they're in violation. Send a complaint to the FEC. Really, do it.

You are much bravery then I .. I was afraid to give them my address for a kit
Good Job!

Kerry's liberal voting record, Kerry has a voting record? This is the first time I've heard anyone suggest that Kerry has even been alive since the Vietnam war. To hear Kerry tell it, he was in suspended animation for the intervening 30 years.
Shalom.

File a complaint with the election commission. Call Sean Hannity and Rush, tell them that you have complained to the election commission. Oh, I forgot, call the Kerry campaign headquarters and tell them, that they better publicly denounce the MoveOn campaign and demand that they recall all the Kerry campaign materials.

Does 'The Kerry Kit' contain a copy of his Vietnam Service records? If not, it is useless.

PAC = Political Action Committee. PAC's are not 527's.
