We will not have the "reagan" unity of the party, until the bitter followers of keyes AND buchanan either leave for good, or repent their harsh words towards our President...

I wish they could learn to say "I am sorry, I was wrong.."
It's actually quite easy.

What's very interesting about reading Reagan's autobiography now, is to see how politics have changed in the last 20 years.

Reagan explains the way he had to deal with the democrats, but he also gets his subtle shots in about those in his own administration who he had to deal with.

I've had a few chuckles about the things he has to say about Alexander Haig's ego problem.

I'm not going anywhere, boys and girls. Neither are the majority of FReepers, who have a strong affinity and respect for Alan Keyes.

You can nip at our heels like Boston Terriers as long as you are tolerated here. But do you so devalue your time? It is hardly accomplishing anything --anything good, anyway.

I don't care very much for many Republicans running for Senate. Neither do most of us. Do you see us harrassing their supporters? Maybe you would like to look to New England Republican Senators. I prefer Alan Keyes.

If you put crabs into a bucket, some might be able to get up and out, but the ones behind them claw onto them and they all get stuck. I'll prefer not to be a crab.

Be that irrational, if you prefer, but you are not doing well in this site. You remind me of the more obsessed people in FR who harass those who want to keep the more resonable of our laws against drugs, and those who rail against belief in a Creator. You seem unable to quit. That's very unfortunate, when you insist on trying to drag down our legitimate conservative leaders (Keyes, or even Buchanon, who was just mentioned).

Know this. In two weeks the Keyes campaign has gained 6,000 volunteers and we are only beginning. Keyes is inspiring a movement which is bound to reform politics in Illinois, something sorely needed. If you live here, join in. If you don't, please pay attention to something in someplace that you know about.

Here, I'll give you more to bicker about, if you need, though. I'll ping the admin mod and Jim, too --for their encoragement in Fresno: You did well when you Zotted those others. I think some of these may be able to learn when they rise to their level of incompetence.

If I catch them going overboard in harassing the Illinois Keyes volunteers I know of in FR, distracting them and wasting their time, I will won't mind being called childish names, from doing what may be done to free them up. Volunteers' time is precious. We're telling them not to bother so much with the crabs --especially those from outside Illinois, though at times it seems "necessary, for the record."

Darn Luis, I wasn't even talking about this one. I was referred to the troll on the other two threads that got zotted around the same time I guess.

I didn't even know about this...departure.

And IF your times is that valuable,`what are you doing here for so many hours?

I just wanted you to know, my comments in post 443 were in reference to a person on two other threads who was an obvious troll and who apparently left around the same time as you.

I didn't not intend to imply that you were a troll, and I was not following this thread so I do not know what specifically lead to your departure and will not comment on it.

Having discussed this issue with you only briefly I recognize and understand the zeal and passion you bring to this issue. I wish you luck and perhaps we'll see you around again.

Too unspun for me.

"I don't care very much for many Republicans running for Senate. Neither do most of us. Do you see us harrassing their supporters?"

Um, there are quite few things I could take issue with in the way the "we" and the "they" is used in that statement. But I'll leave it at this, how many Republicans running for the Senate have an article they wrote entitled, "I am not a BUSH Republican"?

I came into the Republican party because of Reagan and his stand on the sanctity of human life.

It shouldn't be amazing that many who are black will not walk lockstep just for the sake of the party. We did that under the democrats. Keyes learned under the best in working for Reagan. But he is his own man with his own ideas and should be given an opportunity to speak concerning the issues. And not be judged by the hand of other writers who have an agenda or two.

From what I've heard Nancy Reagan is no Bush Republican either but she has changed her stance on many issues dear to her to support President Bush.

It really isn't difficult to see that Keyes was speaking of blood being paid in full for the life of those enslaved. He went further in saying there should have been an economic repayment for the labor which was taxed 100%. It's unfortunate that the only one that can fully open dialogue and have some legitimacy in discussing this with those professors and lawyers and congressmen is being browbeaten for having an opinion concerning reparations.

Many really can't see a gifthorse when he's right in front of you.

>Is Obama pro-abortion? Pro-taxandspend? Pro-gungrabbing?

Obama is all of these things. And it makes me question is credentials as a "conservative". It also makes me question the credentials of some of the self professed conservatives on here who would rather see him elected than Keyes.

Gentlemen, the shoe is on the other foot. All of you who browbeat social conservatives to vote for (R)nold had best shut up and cast your vote for Obama lest you surpass the Democrats as the paragons of hypocrisy in modern American politics.

That is a slanderous lie. I hope you don't work for the major media.

Not at all, private citizen. Tell me what a Bush Republican is then, someone who walks lockstep with President Bush on every subject. I can tell you now there is one issue that bothers me quick--Israel policy when he speaks of Israel not responding when attacked. I will still vote for the President and try to get others to do the same.

One issue in particular, I read Nancy wanted embryonic stem cell research to go forward? She waited awhile before giving her full support. There was this big writeup that she finally gave her endorsement to president Bush.

So what's slanderous about it?
