"Jim: Just wanted to be sure you were following along..."

That has got to be the most immature thing I have ever seen on this forum, and it isn't the first time you've done it either.

That's just flat out pathetic.

Thanks! That one is bookmarked.

I'll never have to buy another birthday card. ;-)

Guess you didn't hear Jim say he didn't appreciate all the shilling for Obama. "Take it to DU" were his words, twice.

I was simply calling his attention to a whole 'nuther stinking pile of it.

If he has a problem with that, I'm sure he'll let me know.

I wonder if EV will apologize for falsely accusing me of lying?

He may surprise us, but I wouldn't be holding my breath.

Nothing to apologize for. What he posted wasn't true.

Obviously you don't read my posts. I spelled out in exact detail the reasons the attempted smear is wrong.

Yep, everyone wants free speech, till it gets in the way of their free speech! For all the Keyes koolaid drinkers, guess what? There are non christian conservatives that don't want candidates that are embarassments, that want slave reparations, that get arrested for not being in a debate and aren't proven losers and laughing stocks. Of course, if we all don't genuflect to Keyes, then, according to their logic, we all just love Obama! I would hope that there is still room in the party to disagree about candidates, if not, this may as well be the Soviet Union in the 70's.

Cyber tattlers are the worst kind of cowards, remember the old saying: "no one tries to censor speech they agree with"

Like all the other Keyes-bashers, your dislike of Keyes is greater than your concern about the control or the makeup of the United States Senate in 2005.

That much is abundantly obvious.

No. But ardently trashing Keyes at this late stage is tantamount to giving support to Obama. (Or is that some strange version of a ''get out the vote'' drive?)

Good night on that one.

Your statement that "I am not a bush republican" upthread hardly qualifies as support for the party either. Or support for our President. I realize however that it was a response to another poster, so there is an overall context to your knee jerking statement about our President.

But know that these kind of statements concerns some republicans (spoken by keyes supporters against the president) just as much as your serious concern for Alan's unpopularity around here...

Perhaps it might be better to not admit that you are "not a bush republican" or in contradistinction say you are instead of supporting president bush, a "reagan republican."

Most of us don't see much of a difference, except that W has done far more to stop abortions, promote freedom of faith in the public concourse, and promote family values, where the rubber meets the road.

for the record I DON'T support President Bush on my own short list of items. Specifically the open borders item. But I AM a BUSH republican, because by and large HE represents me... AND he is the head of my party. I was a DOLE republican too...

So I would like to ask you this fellow republican, "Does President Bush, by and large represent YOU too? And particularly on matters where Alan disagrees with the President (ie race based tax breaks) do YOU stand with the President, like I do?"

and no, I know you don't have to answer the question.
but I hope you can say "yes" without reservation.

I gotta admit obama's a prick.
Alan IS the better man. NO DOUBT...
but it would be a really idea for Alan and HIS supporters to try and heal the breach his more "extreme" statements against the president, have created.

Gaining some glowing support of "bushbots" might actually be a good idea this election. Don't you think? A simple and even partial retraction or apology now and again, won't hurt Alan as much as it would help him.

I think that is what the attacks you see are all about.
And a LOT could be done, on Alan's part to set things aright... And I think he should.

What is abundantly obvious is that 6 years of Senator Keyes will leave enough undecided voters with a bad taste in their mouths for Republicans, and will probably end up in a net loss of seats. But, please, its your crusade, enjoy it while you can.

My support for the GOP and for the President has not wavered in the least.

Hang it up for the night, Robert.

Late stage? Why? Because the Republicans in IL are so freaking lame that this is all they could come up with! They get a carpetbagging proven loser who can only alienate a significant part of the population (see his record running for office) and only appeals to a small cadre of his dwindling base! He will be lucky to get 30% of the vote, and 8% of that will be those who hold their noses and vote! They could have put up a nobody sacrificial lamb, gotten more votes and engendered less ill will on the party for the future, but instead, they get this proven loser nut.

Yeah right.

Liberals, RINOs and hacks will always hate him, no matter what he does.

And of course an occasional actual conservative who got his poor little toes stepped on somehow...

I will take it then that you stay by your previous posting and are indeed are NOT a "bush republican".

How is that so? Does Obama monitor this site?

Do Dems and Indies, fro all over ILL. hang on every word posted to FR's threads about Keyes?

Who here, has posted anything which says that Obama MUST win this race for the good of the nation?

Which posters are telling everyone that they really MUST donate money, time and effort to help Obama's campaign?

That's what's been not only alleged by the Keyes' supporters, but also been written to Jim,in a malicious attempt to get people yelled at/suspended/banned.

And stating FACTS,using the man's own words,is NOT "trashing" Keyes at all.If the truth stings, the get angry at Alan Keyes for his words and deeds.

So just be honest and offer your support directly to Obama, then!

Or are you not intelligent enough to understand that there are only two choices?

Aw, time to break out the names, note, I've only called Keyes a nut, you have to call those that disagree with your view names. Answer me this....seeing as Keyes has never appealed to enough voters to elect him to anything, how is he not gonna get slaughtered in IL and damage the republican party?

No, if I lived in IL, I wouldn't vote for either. Sometimes, you can actually make choices outside of your party! Scary huh? In my state, we had a nutjob run for secretary of state who was an embarassment to the Republican party, I didn't vote for him, and I am glad he lost!

Pure hypothetical: If you had to choose between David Duke running as a Republican and a Democrat, what would you do? (not comparing Keyes to Duke, so don't even start it....)
