You had to see Dole.

Believe me, it was devastating.

Rood's version supports the Swiftees. Get past the irrelevant differnces in detail regarding the single VC, and Rood is saying that Keryy did not attack a numerically superior enemy force, while under intense fire. The defense of "not on the same boat" is gone. That's a good thing too.

Please email this to Jim Geraghty at National Review online and other bloggers. Important points that many will overlook. Thanks

Regarding McCain, the Kerry people are treading on very thin ice to use McCain in their ads against the swifties, because the swifties can turn around and use McCain's own statement(s) against John Kerry upon his return from Vietnam as a POW.

Kerry is on thin ice here.

I'm not the first person to come to this conclusion. The Swiftees will reply, if necessary, to correct the media and pundits who time after time demonstrate reading comprehension problems and gross deficiency in analytical ability.

Imagine her heiney discussing security.

As tho we all have memory loss and don't know who was busy zipping and unzipping rather than minding national security for eight years.

We must keep on praying for our president and our country.

The security of the civilized world depends on President Bush.

Too many spoiled brats out there but we have to do the right thing.

You would think that they would stay away from this, it is so weak. Letson was the only MD at Cam Rhan Bay where these guys were treated. The guy who signed the medical report was an assistant, not a doctor, and he was charged with filling out paperwork. This has all been clear for a long time and is utterly credible. Yet they keep relying on this.

Hi Bahbah. They do this because so many people are really uncurious, not the news junkaholics that we are, and CAN be influenced to believe a meaningless, lying refutation. The dems know that millions will not investigate -- and that millions more, who might want to, don't know where to go to find the truth.

Kerry's own book, Tour of Duty

Kerry's book was The New Soldier, and his biographer's book is Tour of Duty: John Kerry and the Vietnam War, by Douglas Brinkley.

"...so many people are really uncurious...."

Hi, Gretchen. Glad you popped up here. I do have to agree with what you say. I heard Nadler somewhere today just yelling about the SBV's they are all liars and these are all lies, blah, blah, over and over. No facts, no nothing. It was pretty bad, even for Nadler. And then I think, how many Americans of voting age would even know who I was talking about. Oh, well, thank heaven for FReepers. :)

Will had the look in his eye and the sound in his voice that said that that 28 minutes would be the stake in Kerry's self-absorbed, arrogant, delusional heart!

I've been wondering how Kerry's life as a Senator is going to go after November 2 (even assuming his campaign makes it to the ballot on life support).

McCain asked Kerry not to use him in his new ad sliming Bush; Kerry used him.

Dole is retired but he's speaking for at least a few current GOP Senators in his vehemence.

Other fence-sittin' Senators have got to be scratching their heads over how to work with this ... person, now that they're getting a clearer picture of how he abused the Senate from his youth on.

The New York Post Online has a piece called "John a Viet Con: Dole" with this:
A CBS poll shows Kerry's support among veterans has dropped 10 points since the group began advertising.

Kerry launched a new ad yesterday — after his first damage-control ad last week did little to raise his poll numbers.

The new [Kerry] ad features President Bush and John McCain, with a narrator saying, "Bush smeared John McCain four years ago. Now, he's doing it to John Kerry."

That spot, which implies that the Bush campaign is behind the Swift Boat ads, is designed to make it appear that McCain is bashing Bush. McCain heads Bush's re-election bid in Arizona and has asked Kerry not to use him in the Democratic ads.

The Bush campaign criticized the ad as "false and libelous."

I could tell you alot more about John Effin and Teresa (Teraaaaaaaysa), I live in an area close to the "farm" in Fox Chapel, PGH, PA. Things seem to be difficult.

Let's just say................ "The Toricelli Rule" may be somewhere in the near future!

Does he really want to defend his and others' allegations which allowed for our POWs to be tortured and killed at the hands of the VC?

That would be an interesting class-action suit: the families of POW's suing Kerry because their relatives died while being tortured over the Kerry Senate testimony. Don't expect it to happen, but it would be interesting.

In order for the "Kerry said those things when he was young and irresponsible"-type argument to hold water:

1. The US Senate swears in children to testify
2. Our soldiers are too young to serve their country

On the Rate-A-Record scale it wouldn't hit 40. Not a good beat and you can't dance to it.

I just did a time travel back to Dick Clark and American Bandstand.

As a Viet Nam vet I have to agree with your post. I mentioned at a men's prayer meeting yesterday that I thought this could be the time (3 decades late) when the healing could begin.

I've had that same sense in my spirit.
