Being "against" 527s is rhetoric on Mr. Bush's part. He is setting the stage for a complete overhaul/repeal of the CFR. He is gently demonstrating that McCain stepped in it big time, all the while maintaining McCain in the Republican camp.
Someone now needs to ask McCain if he likes being used as a propaganda prop by the Democrat party.

Quite a few NON-FOX SwiftBoat Vet appearances. We'll know if they had any impact Monday morning when the Kerry campaign reacts. Pay no attention to polls or media opinion. It'll be the hysteria of the Kerry camp that will tell you how the story is impacting voters.

I was wondering. Is it better for Juan to be on FNS or not? He is so wacked in the head. Does that make all DemoRats looked wacked? That might be a good thing. I would like on the other hand, an entire panel of conservatives - that would be news program.
To: arbee4bush
Sorta funny too. Buchanan was one of the Dems biggest assets due to his apparent dislike of Bush. When Kerry's commentary pulled Nixon into the fray, Pat Buchanan jumped off the sidelines. Shoulda left that one alone.
To: JENINMO
I agree -- today was the funniest FNC in a long time. Juan has totally lost it! He even defends Kerry's most reckless Senate testimony charges from 1971 -- "systematic atrocities." Right On, Juan! Power to the People! ROFL!

Brit was going to b**ch slap Juan, but he let Kristol do it. They were both more than usually disgusted at Juan's lack of anything resembling simple logic.

Agree. Kristol did a good job. He read the book and understands the arguments. Moreover, he said correctly that Kerry's antiwar activities will become the focus in the future. It is an issue that won't die. I hope and pray that the RNC goes after this issue hard. They may be afraid of the military service issues, but Kerry's antiwar activities are a slam dunk--a real one.

Let me say it again, Juan is THE man to go to at NPR for this topic. If you are going to penetrate that audience, which includes a lot of retired folks, something needs to be done here.

Is it better for Juan to be on FNS or not? Yes...with Brit (and lately Bill Kristol) to smack him upside the head with reality. It's amazing TV.
To: JustaCowgirl
Just think: The REPUBLICAN convention is coming up and the dems will have to watch their own demise as Bush's poll numbers skyrocket! Just before the election too!

Juan-The president needs to come out and say STOP THESE ADS
Yeh, the Dems are in panic mode and crying to GWB for help. Ironically, GWB can't--that would violate the Campaign Reform Act.
As others have said, where were Kerry's admonitions at Whoopie, at Fahrenheit 911, at MoveOn's Hitler comparison? Now, the Kerry camp is crying foul.
What the Libs can't stand is that the SBV's are acting independent of a political party. The Libs can't stop that, even though they are trying---crying to the FEC, threatening TV stations, demanding the publisher recall the book.
[We can expect soon that the DNC will be trying to file lawsuits to stop these actions. Edwards is probably expert in that arena. lol.]

Even Chris while winding up the segment knida looked at Juan like he was going to suggest Juan try decaf.

Kristol said on PBS that he read the book, impressed & explained that one of the POWs showing up in the latest ad is a prominent McCain supporter in 2000 campaign. Also, note that
NY Times reporter who is married to DeeDee Myers is slyming McCain as a selfish person vying for 2008 pres.run

I agree tha Kristol was on the mark today. Only one quibble.
When Ceci and Juan start saying these vets have changed their stories and have spoken out FOR Kerry in the past, it needs to be pointed out that these men reacted after the publication of "Tour of Duty" and Kerry's military records.
THAT is what got them motivated...THIS year.
