Man I hope the SwiftVets can rent the huge TV screens around Times Sq. during the GOP convention to show this ad to the lefties who will be rioting in the streets... might take the air out of their tires pretty well!

They'll have to search for folks with the answers they're seeking... or maybe locate those folks by their odor.

I got a chill up my spine from the new ad, too.

Will have to send another contribution.

"I genuinely feel sorry for Kerry. In his heart of hearts, he's gotta know that he's been well and truly nailed, and he's got to look in a mirror for the rest of his life and think about what these brave men think of him. The shame of it, for most people, would be agonizing." Please don't feel sorry for him! Look at how arrogantly and aggressively he charges forward against the Swift Boat Vets. Is this a man who feels shame and remorse? For anyone to do what he did, so calculating, so premeditated, such bold-faced treason, you can rest assured he feels not a twinge of conscience. Communists rarely do.

"I don't think I could face my friends or family if such things were said about me--and they were true."

I wonder if there's a visit to Fort Marcy Park in Mr. Kerry's future. This would give Mrs. Clinton the opportunity to jump into the race and blame the Republicans for the tragedy.

And the vets have said that they can stand the heat.

I hope they are well armed, travel in pairs (or more), and check their cars frequently. Because it may get more than merely hot.

Chris Matthews' head is exploding right now.

Send him some duct tape and an icebag.

No, they just mention his words. They do not endorse or oppose the candidate. Under CFR, its perfectly legal

You need to look at the FEC FAW page on the CFR law. They indicate that express support or opposition is not required to be in violation. If the purpose of the ad is to oppose a candidate, and that candidate is in any way identified, the ad would be in violation of the law, as interpreted by the FEC.

It's 30 years old, why dredge up the past,"

Thus the next installment will tell how he (and McCain) suppressed evidence of live Vietnam War POWs in order to "normalize" relations with Vietnam. That was much more recent, just over 10 years ago, IIRC.

True, but my understanding that to be illegal the ad would have to endorse a candidate...If you really look at the ad it never even mentions an election...let alone naming a candidate.

Not according to the FEC website. If the purpose of the ad is clearly to "affect a federal election", and he cannidate is clearly identified (a picture is surely good enough) then it's banned. (after Sept 3rd that is, not now) The First Amendment not withstanding.
