From time to time, I’ll post or ping on noteworthy articles about politics, foreign and military affairs. Let me know if you want off my list.

There's no resolution of Cambodian fantasies.

There's more on Nightline shortly.

Unfortunately, we were a family that used to get four daily newspapers at one time.

We now get NONE. All canceled two years ago.

Would it matter if I called even though I am not a subscriber?

No, in fact I heard O'Neill again today reiterate that there:

WERE NO BULLET HOLES.

The NYT "analysis" of the Swift Boat Vets would be like explaining Hillary's missing billing records at the Rose Law Firm by listing the resumes of all the senior and mid level partners and then saying, "that's that."

The NYT ignores most of the charges against Kerry in this article.

I find a person who reads The New York Times with intensity, to the exclusion of other print media to be pretentious and ignorant.

I don't think what the NYT says matters like it used to, except maybe to other news people. The days when they could really sway opinion are over. Regular people get much of their news via word of mouth & over the radio these days. Conservatives go to conservative sources, libs to lib sources. The NYT is a lib source. You don't have to be a genius to spot bias, that's why their readership is declining.

Despite the total newspaper blackout, Kerry still had to respond today. That says alot. I don't care if the NYT ever covers the story. We don't need them. The truth is on the march.

Come to think of it, I haven't read The Times in years.

Read a number of newspapers, both off the stands and online, but The Times is so slanted and poorly written I cannot be bothered with it.

They missed at least one contradiction/inconsistency. The sKerry campaign has admitted that he was not in Cambodia on Christmas (seared, seared in his memory). Oh, and they admitted that Nixon wasn't President until 1/20/69.

NYTIMES even has a nice graphic

Jeeze! If they did that for all the conflicting statements Kerry's made, they have to devote the whole Sunday Times (including the TV Guide & comics) to the flow chart.

Several Swift boat veterans compared Mr. Hoffmann. . . .

The nyt employee was doing okay up until now. Now here starts the nyt's patented anonymous sources.

O'Neill had been recruited by the Nixon administration to debate Mr. Kerry on "The Dick Cavett Show."

Is the nyt employee too young to know Cavett? Nixon recruited O'Neill to debate on the Cavett show?!! Cavett hated Nixon. Nixon could not have arranged anything.

The nyt employee wasted a lot space connecting Republican funding sources. What did he expect? Soros to fund the vets AND giver tens of millions to moveon?

The nyt employee brings up Mr. Elliott and the nyt's Boston Globe. He says that Mr. Elliott has refused to speak publicly lately. No mention that the nyt's Boston Globe never did, as far as I know, release proof that their employee quoted Mr. Elliott correctly.

Following the heading, The Questions, the nyt employee becomes a whirling dervish. For example, Mr. Kerry's Bronze Star: no one has ever said that there was no enemy fire -- they've said that at the time of Mr. Kerry's pulling Mr. Sassmann out of the water the fighting had ceased. Mr. Kerry returned to the area after the fighting and pulled Mr. Sassmann out of the water.

"He [Kerry] called us rapers and killers and that's not true," he continued. "If he expects our loyalty, we should expect loyalty from him."

The nyt employee must have slipped that last line past the employees charged with seeing to it that nothing gets printed that doesn't fit.

The first incident was when Kerry blasted rice into his butt with a grenade. That was falsely reported (by him) as an injury from a non-existent "second mine" during the later incident that day. There's also this from "Bandit":

Did Sen. Kerry Deliberately Alter PCF-94 Damage Report? (The Bandit)

[The battle damage released by Sen. Kerry's campaign describes the PCF-94 as a near disabled wreck; with screws curled, loss of power in its main engines, wiring shorted out, radio's knocked out, etc. (See Official Copy Here) The only problem with this damage assessment is that it is describing the damage that the PCF-3 had suffered by a mine, and not Sen. Kerry's PCF-94. In fact, PCF-94 ended up towing PCF-3 back to its port, and if it had suffered the damage described it would have also needed to be towed.

Furthermore, the damage report clearly states "PCF NOT CAPABLE OF EXECUTING MARKET TIME PATROL." If Kerry's PCF-94 was so badly damaged that it could not even execute a patrol, then how in the world was it able to tow another damaged PCF? Why, with other undamaged PCF's on the scene, a already severly damaged PCF is slected to tow another severely damaged PCF? This is clearly a false report and Kerry's "band" knows this to be false because several of them were there.]

Nice graphic? I'm waiting to see the graphic that links Moveon.Org to the DNC and John Kerry. That takes about two links --- Moveon.Org's "custodian of records" and lawyer, Neil Reiff, is a partner in the law firm of Sandler, Reiff & Young. One of the other name partners in that firm, Joseph Sandler, was former general counsel to the DNC. And Mr. Sandler co-authored a letter with Kerry's attorney, Mark Elias of Perkis Coie, to get the Swift Boats ad stopped.

But this won't make the Slimes. Too obvious. Doesn't need the complicated chart.

I wish I subscribed to a paper I could call or write to. I don't though, and it's because it's nothing but a liberal rag that I refuse to read. Everytime they call me trying to sell me a subscription, I turn them down. And when they ask me my reason for not wanting to get their paper, I tell them "because it's a liberal rag."

I knew about the rice butt...I wonder if the writer confused the "two starboard and one port main cabin window blown out" with bullet holes (on the 94-really 3 boat)

blown out doesn't mean bullet holes except to someone with a preconceived idea...a mine would probably blow out windows...

I see a lot of quotes in the article but not the context within which they were made. I fully expect the Swifties to be front and center tomorrow placing these quotes in context and discrediting the article.

When the Times wants readers to connect the dots, they run nifty little charts like that. Of course, they've never run a chart showing how the MoveOn and ACT and other anti-Bush groups have staffers who worked for Kerry et al. Or any investigation of George Soros, Stephen Bing, etc.
