Are the VFW supporting him or is he just there speaking since, I suppose, he's the only of the four candidates who qualifies?
My 12-year-old son once won a VFW essay contest. He was asked to give the essay as a speech at the VFW. I hadn't read it ahead of time and was shocked when he seriously proposed annexing Canada. The VFW all either couldn't hear or thought it was cute, but they all patted him on the back and said good job afterwards. But he didn't need to have fought in a war to address the VFW.
