If you come for a visit, make sure to make it a trip in the late summer. Our Mountains and prairies are best enjoyed with the top down, cruising the highways, or better yet, on the back of a mountain bike.

Have heard that summer is the best time to see Colorado and we actually did try to go out there last August. I have a problem with dry eyes and it was very hot the whole trip so we had to travel with the A/C blower fans on full force. Turned around in Kansas City where it was 104, with the trip becoming too miserable to continue. Guess we should fly out there but I had always wanted to have that view of the Rockies from a distance where you're driving towards them.
Would spring or fall be a good time to go, I just can't travel in the hot summer anymore. I've heard that spring is the rainy season in CO.

Personally, I would choose fall to visit Colorado. September - October is a GREAT time to visit.
