I couldn't agree more with you. Earth is on the far outskirts of the Milky Way. Nevertheless, distance and physics did not seem to factor in regarding our collective sightings!?!
But they do. Occam's razor wins out here. What each of us saw cannot be assumed to be alien, from the future, from different dimensions, or any other WAG. What was seen can be described, however, not only can we be fooled by tricks of the eye, but humans tend to see patterns (i.e. make assumptions) where there are none. This goes for UFOs as well. What I saw was unknown, however, I personally believe it was either manmade or a natural phenomena/object.
