Identifiable Flying Objects flashed across the Roswell skies long before 1947.

The Guggenheim foundation, at Lindbergh's request fund Goddard's rocket research. Harry F. Guggenheim, Dr. Robert H. Goddard, and Charles A. Lindbergh

April 19, 1932 a Goddard rocket lifts off from its launch pad near Roswell.

BTW those high altitufe balloon were launched from an open pit near Palestine Texas.

Such tactics were not new. During WWII the Japanese launched balloons which carried incenidary bombs. Their goal was for the balloons to carry these weapons across the Pacific and, hopefully, the bombs would fall on wooded areas of the Northwest. They would start forest fires and we'd lose our will to fight(?)!

Kinda like the "bat bombs" that the US developed to carry inceniary bombs to burn Japanese cities. The bats were frozen into a state of suspended animation. As the bomb drifted down under a parachute they would defrost and then would fly to lofts and attics where the bomb would ignite a conflagration. Interestingly, this bomb was never used in combat. Why? A test went awry and the bats were released over Tyndall AFB. They burned down some hangers and warehouses. So much for Batman and Robbin'! Look out Osama! We're a creative country!
