I don't know about Dave S, but I am opposed to forcing people to pay reparations for acts committed by people long dead to people now alive who were not victims of those acts.

I think the German people should have paid reparations to the Jews just US citizens paid reparations to the Japaneese interned during the war. Those payments, at least in the case of the Japanesse-Americans were paid to the people that suffered the injustice, not to descendents some 150 years or more later. There is no reason that I should pay full reparations when half of my family tree didnt come to this country until fifty years after the Civil War.
