It's going to miss Tampa/St. Petersburg, no doubt about it, at this point.
Port Charlotte and Ft. Myers are in danger of not existing anymore.
Unless the storm jogs back to the left side of the current track, they'll be on the better side of the storm - where the winds are blowing offshore. But wind damage is suddenly becoming just as big a factor as storm surge.
My #2 sister's very close friend just moved to Largo--they evacuated yesterday. It's going to get very nasty.
