I haven't been following closely, but it sounds like the hurricane has hit or is hitting where all the people from Tampa evacuated to. Is this true? Do they have safe places to stay, or are they just in hotels, or what?
These things just can't be predicted. Prayers for all.

Hit the Port Charlotte area as CAT 4 now moving across FLA then up east coast.

Don't know.
If the federals though it was going to hit Tampa-St Pete, then they'ed try to move them inland: some certainly would have to go south and inland ----
Which is now where the storm is.
(Remember, this are the same federal government that wants to tell your doctor how, when, and what to treat your injuries for in what locations at what times!)

Irony is alot of the folks that evacuated from the Tampa Bay area moved inward to stay in hotels. And since the storm came in south of where they predicted, they are now having more weather than if they had stayed on their homes on the beaches. But that's a hurricane for you...unpredictable.
