"I think women have earned the right to make those kinds of decisions."

Was there a time when they hadn't "earned the right"? What did "women" as a group do to earn this right? Did I miss something? Was it on the news? ;)

I think she was simply referring to a time when society would go into apoplectic shock if a well known woman posed for sexy photos. People tend to be a lot more relaxed these days.
