FYI, that is a quote Marx stole from St. Paul. You may not like either, but St. Paul was a good guy...

Cite please. I know the Apostle Paul and he never said anything like this.

Concerning the article, it's a good argument for thrift over debt. The Bible says "the debtor is servant to the lender" (Proverbs). It's not clear at all that he repudiates free trade. For one thing, our trade deficit numbers do not include tuition from foreign students, nor tourism. Nor do they include payment of real estate taxes by foreign owners. I wonder if they include income taxes paid by foreign firms? I doubt it. In any case, with all this ignored it's not clear we're running a trade deficit.

Well, I went and looked it up, and you are right; it's not there. ANOTHER piece of "common knowledge" which is not fact-based down the drain.

By the way, when did you meet St. Paul?
