WASHINGTON - As Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry arrived in California on Wednesday, President Bush tried to deploy an unusual political weapon against him -- Democratic senator Dianne Feinstein.
Feinstein is a strong Kerry supporter who delivered one of his nominating speeches at the recent Democratic convention. But the Bush campaign Wednesday used her support last fall for legislation to fund troops in Iraq and Afghanistan to highlight Kerry's vote against it.
``Senator Feinstein understands that supporting the troops at the front lines of the war on terror is not a complicated decision,'' Bush campaign spokesman Steven Schmidt said in a news release that included three Feinstein quotes from Nov. 3 about the importance of approving the $87 billion funding. ``It is troubling that the same cannot be said of John Kerry.''

Cool
We need to hear all about how Pelosi praised Porter Goss before she panned him.
Sounds like a bit of a stretch.
It's a dirty business but we gotta do what we gotta do.. ;-) lol
DOH!
And it's about time.
``There were too few troops to secure the border and the infrastructure. Consequently, terrorists and fanatics were able to gain footholds, destroy infrastructure, and decimate good intentions with truck and car bombs,'' Feinstein said in a written statement. ``What John Kerry is saying is that he would have conducted these operations very differently. I believe he is correct in pointing out the deficiencies and problems.''
I disagree... No one could have anticipated the massive infusion of terrorists from Iran and other countries that fled to, not from Iraq, and then fought like they have. And that is not an indictment of the Bush administration and the allies there, but rather of the allies that were not there and were not willing to work for meaningful reform in the Middle East , rather those Euro "allies" chose to cover and run and continue to hide their own misdeeds over the years and collusion with the Regime that was replaced.
My post was confusing. That's Feinstein you're disagreeing with, if I read your post right. My point was that by using her name in their argument against sKerry, they allowed more media coverage for the opposition, via Feinstein.
