Now that is REALLY stupid.
First, the whole point of Kerry's emphasis on Vietnam service is to honor veteran status. An all-out war on vets destroys the whole process.
Second, the American people are not supportive of demeaning veterans who risked their lives in combat.
The Democrats are likely to start a civil war if they bring dishonor to the many vets from Vietnam who still are seething with anger after years of silence. For one thing, the vets the Democrats would attack did not call their fellow servicemen "baby killers" and "war criminals" as did Kerry.
The sick Kerry bastard wants to be remembered as a honorable hero when he spent far more time dishonoring his comrades than he ever spent in combat.
We don't remember Benedict Arnold as a brave general who led Americans to victory. We remember him as a traitor.
Treason erases any honor. The fact you were an Eagle Scout becomes irrelevant once you rob the bank.
If the Democrats put such effort into attacking individual Swiftboat vets, they admit the mortal damage being done to them and they participate in the disintegration of a key campaign strategy - bragging about military service.
If this counterattack is in their game plan, the Kerry campaign is finished. Put a fork in them. They are done.
