We still don't know the answer to that. Lehman was SecNav from 1981 to 1987. Many of us have tried to discern why HE would have signed Kerry's citations so many years after the action.
Interesting that Lehman's tenure coincides perfectly with Kerry's first run for the Senate...when union bosses were telling him their rank and file didn't like that he threw his medals away. Voila! Right smack dab in the middle of the 80's, the medals reappear! It's like....magic!
(BTW, I've gotten a reporter interested in the Lehman angle...a GOOD reporter)
Yep, the fact that Kerry asked Lehamn to sex up the citation to make it seem worthy of the Silver Star is so Kerryesque.

Carl Cameron, Fox News Channel asked that question yesterday and was told Kerry never said what he has been quoted as saying. Carl quoted published articles and was told they, Kerry staff, would get back to him. I have not seen anything of a response.
Yeah!. I thought I saw somewhere recently that he was going to send Edwards over there. What a brave leader (aside from the fact that it hasn't happened).
Four boats on patrol, one boat hits a mine, people get blown into the water. NO OTHER ENEMY FIRE from anywhere. Two of the boats start picking people out of the water, Kerry fled the area in his boat.
When he noticed that there was no fire coming from the banks, Kerry comes back with his boat and picks up Rassuass (or whatever his name is). Other boats pick up other guys out of the water.
Kerry turns in paperwork that says that there was "heavy enemy fire coming from the banks for 3 miles along the river, from both sides of the river, and Kerry risked his life to save Rassass, and got a boo-boo (bruise) on his arm".
So Kerry got a Silver Star and another Purple Hart.
Yup thats the way it went down from what I have gathered.

The 'rats are going to try to take Fox out very soon. They were counting on all major media being onboard Kerry's Presidential Swift Boat.
Did they insinuate that the 60+ men that have stated Kerry was not truthful and were not near Kerry while he was in Vietnam? Did they want us to believe that they would not have been able to see what was taking place because of it.
His whole four months were a giant, self absorbed mess of cheating, lying and accumulating enough film footage for a future political ad. It's real sickening.

This is about the 4th time I've posted this but Mark Levin had a vet named Chenowith on his show. He watched the 3 boat go up in the air in front of him. Kerry's boat took off down the river. His boat and another boat stayed by the 3 boat. He said that from his vantage point 14 ft in the air, at no time was there enemy fire from the banks. That was including the time that Kerry just beat him to Rassman. He had already picked up 2 other people. I think he made the point about his high vantage point because Rassman was "bobbing" in the water and was not in a good position to judge if there was enemy fire.
If anyone who listened to Mark is around, I'd appreciate any additions. ( or corrections. )
