The state Office of Counter-Terrorism also warned ambulance operators earlier this week to guard against suspicious people. The bulletin came after workers at two rescue squads and one emergency room reported fielding strange inquiries.

This ties in with something that caught my eye today. As I was driving past the local mosque, I noticed an old ambulance sitting next to the building. It still had lights and the "ambulance" markings although I couldn't tell where it was originally from. It wasn't local since the markings were not like any local public or private ambulances.

It was probably just being used by a contractor, but it is still a bit unnerving given some of the terror warnings.

For the record, it was a late '80's GM pickup cab with a large ALS-sized box, white with a dark red (maroon) horizontal stripe near the top of the box.

Even if someone tried to use this to get into a scene around here, they wouldn't have much luck since nobody uses GM chassis ambulances in the city.
