It's a stretch I know, but I can't get something out of my mind; reading about The End Times and islam some time ago, I noticed a reference to a double rainbow - that they say will appear when the Mahdi comes...and allah will rule the world blah blah...part of the islamic prophecy. And, as so much of what they write is conected to ancient arabic mythology, I take this reference quite seriously.
Not that I believe they have the capacity. A threat to attack the Games venue, like so many other threats we read on the Net, could be just wishful thinking and acting out by twisted youth. Anyhow, I certainly hope that's all it is.
There was a bomb plot uncovered recently (the ringleader Jack Roach, a British migrant convert to islam, living in Australia, who is now in jail,) admitted plans had been made to attack the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000. The only reason, he said, this did not take place, was that the cell did not have sufficient volunteers nor funds to carry it out. We were lucky, hey?
