I taking off next week as well. As much as I would have liked to be part of the excitement I just don't feel like dealing with the hassle at Penn Station. For the past two weeks my office building set up tables in the lobby and has been doing "mandatory bag checks".

Sounds like fun... my dad said everyone within (4 blocks?) had to register for security passes? Not sure if I remember what he was saying correctly, but he made it sound like quite a mess. His employees were complaining that it felt like post-9/11 again.
I was planning on going to the RNC, but decided I better go to the first week of classes instead. ;)
