August 18, 2004 OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (AP)-- Officials at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory allowed hundreds of workers to return to work shortly after 10:00 Wednesday morning.
The workers were evacuated from four buildings after what Energy Department officials say was a small chemical spill.
A lab technician dropped a beaker that held about 100 milliliters of a gas odorizer about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The noxious smell was spread by the air handling system. The Energy Department says no one was hurt.

"Terminal Two was evacuated at 4:35 p.m. (1535 GMT) because a suspicious package was found and the bomb squad were called, but they've now left and things are returning to normal," a spokeswoman for Manchester Airport told Reuters on Wednesday.
