SEATTLE - The Washington Department of Transportation says by January of next year, there should be 800-1,000 cameras on state ferries.
The additional security is being financed by part of an $11 million Homeland Security grant to the ferry system.
Right now, ferry security means a dog and a state trooper. But there's a better idea for the future: cameras, everywhere.
