Russia urges US to comply with troops, armaments reduction commitments

MOSCOW, Aug. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Russia expressed hope on Tuesday that the US plans to restructuring its armed forces abroad would be in line with US commitments to reduce troops and armaments.
US President George W. Bush announced Monday plans to withdraw 60,000 to 70,000 troops from bases in Europe and Asia over the next 10 years, as part of a global military realignment.
