There is a big difference. When the Beast decided to run for senator she bought a home there and spent most of her last year campaigning in NY state.

She started EARLY. The Beast visited every county in NY and listened to the voters and she made sure everyone knew it too. She was aware of the issues important to that area or county.

I don't know if she convinced them she would be a good senator, but it seemed enough that they thought she cared. It is a very low threshold, but it worked.

Keyes is starting less than 3 months before the election. It is a ridiculous exercise in ego building by Mr. Keyes. Who is going to contribute to this farce?

On top of that I am going to have to endure the complete adulation that people here seem to have of Keyes.

I actually like Keyes, but he is a terrible politician.

Hillary was also a liberal icon campaigning in a liberal state. Keyes is a conservative firebrand heading into the belly of the corrupt Democrat machine. Imagine if Hillary ran in Texas?

I love Keyes and so does my liberal-leaning wife. She just admires his speaking ability and the way he brings everything back to core principles instead of getting caught up in the horse-race muckety-muck.

May I add some punctuation that would make your sentence more accurate? The Beast visited every county in NY and "listened" to the voters.

I never saw such a fake exercise in my life. Our local "listening" event was confined to a single topic: student volunteering. Pre-selected student volunteers were handed the microphone for their stories, as she gazed at them adoringly. She gave a set speech I heard her give at a local event the year before. Audience participation was a joke. Anything she didn't wish to answer, she just acted like she was "listening," which after all was all she promised.

Local newspaper and regional TV coverage was amazing to me. They surely hadn't covered the same event I attended. I asked the custodian how many folding chairs were provided. Local media inflated the crowd by 5X. The room was 3/4 full at the beginning; 1/4 full at the end. No reporting on the exodus, or the reason for it. My perception: I came, I saw, I left.
