I've worked closely with Keyes since 1995 ... also with Ward Connerly, FWIW ... and I know, in my case, that what you write is simply false.
You are nearly alone in thinking him "not brilliant." Even his enemies usually admit him to be both learned and deeply intelligent.

Well, sir, I am truly happy to hear your experiences with Alan Keyes have been far more productive than were mine and those of nearly everone I know who ever worked, or had dealings, with him. In his home state, the man is basically a pariah, to the point his help on others' campaigns is unwanted.
Since you've worked closely with Keyes, has he ever explained why he was past due on his taxes or why he's failed to pay off his campaign debts?
Are you still the president of the Declaration Foundation?
Have you been the president in the last several years, and/or have you had any other title/affiliation with any other entity?
Many people thought that Adlai Stevenson was also "brilliant" and that his stint at the UN proved how great he was too. That was not the case,though.:-)
You are nearly alone in thinking him "not brilliant
oBAmasama also considers Keyes brilliant because he turned his butt around in Mississippi and hauled it back to Jesse's lap at full speed when he heard that Hurricane Keyes was on the way.
Poor Obywanabama. He though it was going to be easy sailing.
