I'm impressed you got Louie in there, great joint.

Ain't it funny how everybody has a different favorite when it comes to BBQ?

A couple more good ones in the central Texas area.

Cooper's in Llano.

Smitty's, Black's and Kreuz Market in Lockhart. (What can I say, I take a ride there I hit all three...).

In Austin Sam's and The Iron Works (the latter mostly cause it's the closest that's tolerable. Can't tolerate County Line, Artz or, gasp, Rudy's!).

Some of my earliest memories are a couple of visits to Louis Mueller's. I wasn't even in school yet when the family traveled from West Texas to Thorndale for a family funeral. My granddad took several generations of us there to eat before we all headed back home. Went again a year or so later on the way to a church anniversary in Serbin. Even as a kid I loved the place and the food...glad it's still around.

(Anybody remember Fritz's in Austin?)

Reading this thread on Monday morning I am shocked to see it took 324 posts for Kreutz's to come up. Best BBQ in the world. Southside in Elgin has moved up to #2 IMHO. Strange but true I am not a Cooper's fan.
