That re-enforces the thought I have that every elected politician who is convicted of illegal activity against the people, while in office should be summarily executed.

Opression under color of authority should be a capital crime.

Put a few corrupt donunt muchers in front of a firing squad and you'll see an attitude adjustment.

By and large, people in Oshkosh are quite docile.

Of course, when 5 guys with M-16's or MP-5's show up at your door and "ask" to look around in the middle of the night, docility is prudent, no?

Ping to Shooter.

RS--the story was big enough at the time to make the Milwaukee TV stations--but of course, it was strictly from the OshkoshLEO perspective: "someone shot an OPD officer and the area was searched to find the perp..." kinda line.

Even JFPO wasn't paying attention on this one.

They'll kill you, your family, your pets and burn your house

Yup.

It was a retired copper who told me very clearly: 'there's only one story if the other guy is dead.'

Ar you trying to tell us that Paulus rammed through convictions by playing games?

The papers here tell us that the Feds got him for taking bribes on DWI's.

Not that he was running a conviction-mill....

"Failure to heed the orders of an officer".

Did you forget to hold the mayo, or something? Gave em the wrong kind of donut?

Nothing so drastic, merely demanded to know WHY I was being stopped before the cop had made up his mind what his excuse would be.

It has become common for local cops to pull people over at random, or merely due to being out after mid-night, then decide their reason for the stop afterward if they have to.
This one was abusive, he forgot to render me even the slightest courtesy and I knew DAMN WELL I had done nothing at all wrong.

When I demanded that he call the watch commander or Sheriff to witness what a jerk he was being he maced me, then attempted to break my arm.
Turns out his older brother was the shift commander that night, so he helped him write up a ludicrous litany of stupid and absurd lies.
I was charged with assaulting an officer and failure to obey his orders!
For the life of me I cannot find anything in the constitution giving alleged L.E. (in this case thugs) the power to give citizens orders that would put them in physical jeopardy if followed, certainly not without probable cause!

It appears that the fourth amendment has been repealed along with the others.

Really too long to go in to full detail, but the end result is that I no longer respect my local L.E. or courts.

This sad corruption of their office may be related to the voters rejecting a proposed 5% county gas tax for the second time.
L.E. and the county share "ticket" revenues, the "Justice Court" judge is a former cop.

I think that's what the Jews said to each other in Germany when they came to take them away.

"I have corresponded with Police Officers who actually believe that they could control a citizenry that is in active revolt. "

Yeah, isn't that a hoot? They wouldn't stand a chance against an armed and outraged citizenry. The body armour that they swagger around in won't do them a damned bit of good when folks start aiming for the head.

A lot more will come out about Paulus. Remember "Sara and Mark Peterson" ? It was Paulus's first nationwide case in 1989 and 1990. It fell apart due to his misconduct. Paulus had a movie deal. Ann Archer was picked to play his then wife. Howard Rosenberg of 60 minutes fame was the producer. Paulus took an advance. That was just the start of his career.

Doesn't even have to be head shots. Most decent hunting rifle ammo will go through even a trauma plate at closer ranges (pointblank-100 yrds).

Re-reading Matt Brackens Enemies Foreign and Domestic.... Still seems applicable.
