I think that the Bush people are trying to keep "above the fray" If they said any thing in direct support of the Vets they would be accused of smearing dirt on the dims.
I have not heard of them saying anything directly against the Vets either.
By staying aloof they can avoid most of the screaming from the dims.
These vets have said that they are not endorsing Bush. If Kerry had not won the nomination they never would have come forward.
