Hardly any ire here but yours.... Most folk seem to be having a pretty good time!
That was on last night. I stayed up for the rerun to watch it a 2nd time!
"It's on late at night, and isn't marketed to kids."
Absolutely not. It's on at 10pm and is very popular among kids. Like I said, they make good points sometimes, I just don't like the potty humor and all of the cursing.
I think my problem in general is the coarsening of entertainment. It seems like it just keeps getting dirtier and dirtier, and more and more jaded and pessimistic.
10 is late for kids....
What is your definition of 'kid'? Teenagers? They'll be fine with South Park.
Not that it ~should~ be watched by anyone ;~D
Er, no. Actually the current pinko governement of Vichy Spain would be likely to ban it, for having the brass cojones to openly lampoon hippies, reds, lib dupes, media fifth columnists, clueless third worlders, and barbarous moose-limbs. Strange, isn't it, that this stylized cartoon presents a far more realistic worldview than most of the pseudo-gritty melodramas and bizarre "reality" shows that represent the rest of television?
"Trey and Stone are as far right as we can hope for in this day."
Oh definetly true. My point is just that if they are conservatives, they should understand the problem of coarsening society.
Damnit- I said they were right!! ;)
It was sick ...but it was funny! Your right that it was "WAY OVER THE TOP", though.
Just because something is popular among kids doesn't means it's marketed to kids. Kids are into forbidden fruit, they're also into annoying their parents. By 10 kids should be in bed, my school night enforced bedtime was 9 until my age hit double digits, then it got bumped to 10 until mom decided I was old enough to screw up my own life (15). So you see, when parents have rules and enforce them their kids won't be seeing South Park, when parents don't have rules or enforce them that's not Parker's and Stone's fault.
"10 is late for kids...."
Not really. I know alot of 9-13 year olds watch it. I was 14 by the time it came on the air and I was a huge fan until they went overboard with the potty humor.
I dunno... I kinda like the Christmas poo :/
This is one of the funniest vanities ever.
"when parents don't have rules or enforce them that's not Parker's and Stone's fault."
Excellent point. But in fairness, I'm sure there was nothing on tv as coarse as South Park when you were a kid.
Agree...like Ralph Bakshi's Wizards..too deep for many kids of today, some will get it. :|
I hated claymation.
Well, 10 is awful late for 9 year olds.... or even teenagers who have school the next day. Parents have a role to play here you know. It is not our responsibility to protect kids from adult shows on cable late at night, it is a parent's.
Old Cracker - the NEW A+Bert!
6-5 you're a Matlock junkie!
Led Zeppelin and Boones Farm was fine, claymation gave me nightmare's!!
"I hated claymation."
Haha... that just means you didnt smoke enough weed before-hand.
