Correction accepted with a sheepish grin.
However, it doesn't change the underlying sentiment that it's maddening when even a police force, which must depend on discipline and uniformity for its effectiveness, has had to yield to these PC weaklings.

When they murder their own countries leader while protecting her, they were good until that.
How long before they kill someone because they don't
like their actions.

Are you calling the Sikhs PC weaklings? That's not something I would recommend saying to a Sikh......

When they murder their own countries leader while protecting her, they were good until that. How long before they kill someone because they don't like their actions. That was a dispute that really has nothing to do with America. Name one instance where a Sikh has committed any type of act against the USA or its government.
Following your logic, we should exclude people of Irish descent from working as cops, based on all the problems in N. Ireland.
I figure, so long as we don't bomb their temple, we should have no problems with them.

Pretty soon it will be cross dressing male officers wearing skirts. Once the path is clear all hell breaks loose.

I understand that Sikhs are also required by their religion to carry a dagger called a kirpan. Will NYPD regulations permit this also?

Following your logic, we should exclude people of Irish descent from working as cops, based on all the problems in N. Ireland. Hold on a sec. There is no terrorist activity in The Irish Republic. Northern Ireland is part of Great Britan, not Ireland. Unless Northern Ireland is unjustly occupied by the British, your statement would be more correct by saying "exclude all people of British descent." Personally, I have no opinion on the NI issue, but I find the stange PC lumping of the Irish into the ranks of the terrorists unjust. I know you are defending the sikhs, but leave the Irish out of it.

"They"?
I see you have no objections to holding Sikhs collectively responsible for the assassination of Indira Gandhi. Are you as willing to hold white Americans collectively responsible for the destruction of the so-called "Native American" cultures and of the slavery of African-Americans?

Unless Northern Ireland is unjustly occupied by the British, your statement would be more correct by saying "exclude all people of British descent." The terrorism that occurred in Northern Ireland was committed by members of the Irish ethnic group. My statement stands.
I find the stange PC lumping of the Irish into the ranks of the terrorists unjust.
Why? The Irish have committed more than their fair share of terrorism in the last century.

Alright now. I'm not going to get into a silly back and forth on this. I've accepted your correction and reasserted my view on the matter.
the PC weaklings I refer to are the NYPD brass, NY government bureaucrats, and whoever else caved to these demands.
I hope this is now clear enough.

You really should look up the details of what happened at the Golden Temple. That temple to the Sikhs was much like the Vatican is to Catholics, Mecca is to Muslims, or Jerusalem is to most Christians. Ghandi ordered that the temple be invaded and shelled on one of the Sikhs holiest days with nearly 10,000 pilgrims inside. Up to 1200 were killed and many more injured and crippled, and the centuries old temple was laid to waste (some of the oldest Sikh texts burned in a library that was set on fire by the Hindu soldiers...when the Sikhs tried to run in and douse the fire or bring some of the texts out to safely, they were gunned down).
Personally, I can understand why they shot her.

Henceforth, the officers will be SUBSTITUTING turbans for the uniform cover. I've seen that in other cities. They wear the cap device on the front of the turban.

I understand that Sikhs are also required by their religion to carry a dagger called a kirpan. Will NYPD regulations permit this also? What? You think NYPD officers don't carry knives now? The Kirpan is, or can be, purely ceremonial/symbolic blunted and dull. However these guys are going to be carrying Glocks, what's the harm in a discreetly carried dagger?

I figure, so long as we don't bomb their temple, we should have no problems with them. What does that have to do with them forcing the NYPD to cater to their dress code?
