This isn't the WH's battle. This isn't ours.
Kerry has made his service an issue. He has given a false impression of support. He has amplified his record. He BETRAYED the Vietnam VETS when he returned home!
They have a RIGHT to address the Senator. They have a right to defend their honor and question his, if they have evidence that disputes his "heroism" claim.
I support their efforts. I'll defend them. Though not in relation to G.W.'s campaign. The two are not linked in the manner the press/dems will suggest.
The W.H., imo, should simply respond this isn't "their" battle. True enough. It isn't.
BIBGO! You've got it....McCain better sit back and listen before he says another word. He's playing a losing card.
This ride is going to be bumpy for the next three months... much is at stake.
RATS have been shut out of all branches of the elected federal government now for some time -- they cannot deliver to their constituencies.
Not everything is going to go our way, and we face immense hostility from the MSM. On the other hand, we have the Rose Garden and the levers of power to make and shape news. And we have the most superb re-election strategy ready to roll.
Watch what the President does in his convention speech to put Kerry and the RATS on the wrong side on taxes. The tax cuts are set to expire. Guess who has to vote on making them permanent in September?
And that's just the beginning. We're gonna haul Kerry's raunchy ass off the campaign trail over and over to make him (and Edwards) vote on taxes, defense appropriations, judges, medical savings accounts, etc. We control the Senate agenda.
It is to the extent that many of us are Veterans, some even of Vietnam or the Vietnam era. Technically I'm one of the "era" vets, but I wouldn't claim that status, since US involvement was pretty much over by the time I went on active duty. OTOH, Kerry slandered the military and all veterans when he lied to Congress, so all vets have a dog in this fight to some extent.
