But again, you mischaracterize my comments. As I've said over and over again, my problem really isn't with Keyes. It's the fact that the state and national parties have allowed us to degrade into this deplorable situation. You can call that an attack on Keyes over and over again for as long as you want, but it won't make it true.
As I said, I understand your frustration at your state party leaders. I just hope you can set it aside to work for the one person in the race who will fight for what you want, should he decide to accept the challenge.
Pining over what someone may or may not have done in the past does no good.
Everyone knows the Illinois GOP is in a deplorable condition.
But the direction to look is forward, with a positive attitude.
That's what winners do.
Notwithstanding a very few marginal disgruntled types, the GOP will be unified like I've never seen it over this race.
I understand your anger and empathize. However, one has to make lemons out of lemonade. Keyes, if he does well in your state (even if he doesn't win) could revitalize the party. There's a large number of states that would give their right arm to get Alan Keyes there and active.
