It's official! Yahoo!
Well, the people defending him do.
Bullcr@p. Defeatism is your game. There's no way you would ever pull the lever for Keyes. He's too much of a 'true believer' and an anti-lavender.
Reality check; I vote STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN EVERY ELECTION. What would you know about 'true believers' ?
And "Anti-Lavender"?
That must be up your alley because I don't have a clue as to what you're talking about.
It's too bad you have to make unwarranted personal attacks against posters whom you know nothing about simply because they disagree with you on an issue.
The fact remains I bet I am right. Keyes will lose to Obama.
Lots of charges fly in this forum, Luis. :)
So you want Hillary/Obama in 08 because you think Keyes is so bad?
Take names...the next time we're called "BUSHBOTS",by one of them, they're in for BIG trouble. :-)
Keyes may not win, but it'll be nice to see him carve up Obama in debates and bring him down a notch. There will be a ton of national media spotlight on this race so Keyes may open the eyes of a few blacks in Illinois who previously would dismiss the conservative viewpoint right off the bat.
Why would I do that? I only support Republican candidates.
Let's not confuse honesty about Keye's chances of winning with political support for Obama.
What are you going to do if Bush backs Keyes' campaign?
Oh, they do.
Keyes was critical of the GOP, during the Clinton years. For some here, being critical of the GOP is the worst sin of all.
You know, I bet Obama has led a charmed life. His Token status has probably made him immune to criticism. I wonder how he'll react to Keyes? His conventions speech made me want to puke. I would love to get a peak at his SATs and LSATS. I'm betting neither one of us would have had a chance at Harvard law or gotten onto law review in his shoes.
Imagine a freakish scenario where Obama gets hit by a meteorite and Keyes ends up in the Senate. I think a lot of GOP Senators would rather have Obama there.
Why? I said that last week. :-)
Oohrah!
Cam, I've met you and genuinely like and respect you. But this Keyes thing is over the edge.
I voted for Keyes in the'96 primary, and have sent him financial donations in the past. In 2000, I followed up on some research I was sent, and now believe Alan Keyes is, at best, an opportunist. There are some things about how he used donations sent to him that don't add up, and I will share that with you here, if that is what you want.
Just like Jesse Ventura didn't have a chance in Minnesota. Besides, there are many things to be gained by a very good run by an excellent candidate: building the base, preparing for the next race, supporting other races, keeping the other guy from having a slama obama thank you ma'ama free ride, etc. If Keyes accepts, keep updated; there are things to learn.
BUSHBOTSBUSHBOTSBUSHBOTSBUSHBOTS!!!! ;)
But you know what? For today, I can gladly say, "More power to you." Good luck, and all of that. Bush is doing what is right in Iraq and Afghanistan against the terrorists of this world. Without getting that right, we cannot get anything right.
Seriously, what is it that I'm doing that I have accused you of doing in the past? Or were you not referring to me? I just asked because I've been chatting with Howlin for awhile, and thought it might have something to do with me.
I have no opinion on Vt.
Like I said, we do not have to be fair to evil. Illinois belongs to God, not to Obama and evil 'rats, so there is nothing immoral for aman of God by invitation to accept hte offer and move there under these circumstances.
I am appealing to a greater good ethic/hierarchicalism: Since when does a candidate like Obama (who apparently would not even support a state version of the born infants alive act) have more of a right to serve in the Senate (even in Illinois) than a man who believes in God's word? Obama does NOT have more of a right.
Using God as the standard Alan Keyes has more of a right to represent Illinois than Obama does.
The fastest 180 in the history of FR. :)
Whenever.
