It's official! Yahoo!
Oh joy. Keys gets to be a sacrifical lamb again.
Sorry, I use to like Keys before he got nuts and went on hunger strikes and such, but I just can't get excited about this.
Good God I hope not. I actually want to control the Senate after this election. There money would be spent a WHOOLLLEEEE lot better in South Dakota, Florida, North Carolina, Washington, Wisconsin, Lousiana, Alaska, Colorado, Oaklahoma, and South Carolina.
Once all those are sewn up as sure things, then sure! Send Keys what's left.
Keyes went on a hunger strike?
Yes, when he was discluded from some debates or some such thing.
It seems to me that, anymore at least, Keys is more interested in making his point, really loudly, then actually winning or helping the cause.
I think you're right. I can almost see him weighing the pros and cons of these complex moral considerations. In the end, he'll do the right thing.
No, he never went on a hunger strike.
OOPS. :)
Giuliani/Rice in '08.
hehehehehehehehehehe :-)

He's a flake. He's a gifted speaker, but all said and done, he's much more of a red meat thrower then anybody who's going to do a lot to actually advance conservative ideas.
Keyes isn't going to "blow Obama away".He has a 19th century style and Obama has a 21rst,century one.
And the same people, who had hissy fits over the Arnold V.McClintock thing are STILL as blind now, about this,as they were about that one.Not to mention the fact that NONE of them have any knowledge of Ill. politics.
Alan, unlike Arnold, will NOT bring in crossover votes, will drive some GOPers (the wishy-washy Limousine ones and there are many of those in Chicago and the suburbs!))away, and there just are NOT enough of the "purist" kind of Conservatives in the entire state of Ill.,to make this anything other than a sure thing for Obama.
RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much of society is held together by unwritten rules which people follow in treating others because they hope others will follow the same rules with them in return.
Although some of the rules should be followed regardless of what anyone else does, others should not be followed when dealing with those who flout them.
A game in which one side plays scrupulously by the rules while the other side violates them with reckless abandon is apt to get more out of control than one in which the scrupulous person is willing to take advantage of the other player's "easing" of the rules. After all, in the latter game, the would-be violator has to be aware of the consequences of opening Pandora's box; in the former, he will be able to flout the rules more and more eggregiously until something is done.
Slick Willie would say "It's not adultery. It's Marital outsourcing :o)"
Lat fall,Evanston was riddled with Obama signs and they usually do NOT have signs in that area. It's worse now.
Then there's Hinsdale,Champaign-Urbana,Chicago proper, and a whole LOT of other places that will NEVER give more than a tiny vote to Keyes.Heck, they won't even listen to the message.
Will Skoie's Jews go for Alan? Hmmmmmmm...maybe the Hasidim will. The Jews in Glen Coe? I doubt it...highly.
This NOT "pessimism";this is factual commentary on my part. Unlike others posting to this thread,I actually DO know what I'm talking about. And I know what it took to get Reagan and Thompson and Bush the elder the wins in Ill.! I WORKED ON THOSE CAMPAIGNS THERE.
You sure it's the GOP you're sending your checks to?
I agree :-)
Obama will be terrified of the debates.
Well, I doubt that. Obama is pretty confident (and a very confident speaker) and he truly has an enormous advantage in Illiniois.
Keyes should speak at the convention.
I doubt the GOP would let him, but it would be great!
It sure beats the alternative candidate the Illinois GOP was considering, and if Keyes accepts it would get the conservative message out. The fact that the media is fascinated by the idea seems to indicate there would be a lot of coverage which could make things interesting.
