Crawl on his stomach? I have hunted deer in fairly tight woods for many years and have never heard of anyone crawling on their stomach to stalk deer. Now geese thats a different matter, on your back or stomach and decoys in a field is spot on but you wouldn't be moving around or really care about the wind direction. What an idiot.

hmm I thought you used rifles with scopes not shotguns to hunt deer? I'm not a hunter, just a handgun carrier, but it seems to me a shotgun is more for use on birds and small game like squirrel & rabbits, not big game animals like deer. A 30/30 would be a better choice of a deer hunting gun.

My uncle Pete was a big time, he went every year to Iron Mt to hunt, he used a 30/30 on deer and bear and a 12 gauge shotgun on squirrel and rabbits.

Very successful hunter, rarely bought a piece of meat at the grocery store.

I know guy's who have crawled on their bellies while stalking deer. Usually the deer have bedded down, and generally it's in fairly wide open country..........This guy's most always were using a black-powder rifle, a slug gun, or a bow.

FWIW-
