Congratulations on your powerful essay. I was a Navy psychiatrist from '67-'69, stationed at St. Albans Naval hospital in Queens, N.Y. I saw combat casualties who suffered all sorts of physical and psychological trauma. I heard many stories of extraordinary courage, as well as tales of horrific barbarism on the part of the VC (rarely reported in the American press). I developed enormous respect for our brave Marines and find myself enraged by John Kerry, not only for his original slanders, but also his despicable attempt to build a Presidential candidacy on his 4 months in Vietnam. Thanks. Been there many times. I know far more about this guy than I want to already. I hope the talk radio circuit that the Swiftboat guys are on this week gets some national attention. The American people need to get educated on who this guy REALLY is.
